Visual MP3 Splitter and Joiner can help you perform simple editing operations involving MP3 files. As you can probably guess from its name, this application can split an MP3 sound file into smaller chunks as well as join several files into a larger one. Fortunately, besides MP3, it supports other source formats, such as WMA, WAV, APE and CUE.
Its tabbed graphic interface separates the two main functions so that you do not feel overwhelmed with so much information. Still, in my opinion, it is unnecessarily complicated and many users will not be able to start using it before finding some extra help. Fortunately, there is online documentation about its usage.
You can import various files for splitting in a single session. Then, you can preview their contents and mark the start and end times for each clip. It is also very convenient that many segments can be extracted from the same source file.
Joining various files implies making a list of the source clips. Then, you can place them in the intended order and proceed to convert. The program can join the files really fast with no quality loss whatsoever because it does not need to recompress them. However, this becomes a disadvantage when you are joining files with different characteristics. For instance, I tried to join various WAV files but the program failed to do so because the source clips had different audio qualities. more
